Opening Prayer

Father God, thank You for bringing us together. Open our hearts and help us understand Your Word. Teach us to obey when You speak, to pray when we are afraid, and to show others the same mercy You have shown us. In Jesus’ name, amen.

1. God Calls Jonah

God told Jonah to go to Nineveh and warn its people that they had turned toward evil. God wanted them to hear the truth so they could turn from sin and receive mercy. Jonah heard God clearly—but did not want to go. Hearing God’s direction matters, but hearing is not the same as obeying.

2. Jonah Runs Away

Jonah boarded a ship toward Tarshish—the opposite direction. He could choose another ship, road, and city, but he could not travel beyond God’s sight. When we run from God, He does not lose us.

3. The Storm

A fierce storm struck the ship. The sailors threw cargo into the sea and cried out in fear, while Jonah slept below deck. His disobedience placed everyone aboard in danger. Our choices rarely affect only us.

4. Jonah Confesses

Jonah admitted that he worshiped the Lord who made sea and land, and that he was fleeing from Him. The sailors reluctantly threw Jonah overboard, the sea became calm, and they worshiped God. Even in Jonah’s failure, God revealed Himself to others.

5. The Great Fish

Jonah sank beneath the water, but God prepared a great fish to swallow him. The fish was not merely punishment; it was also rescue. Sometimes God’s rescue feels dark or uncomfortable, yet His hand is still holding us.

6. Jonah Prays

Inside the fish, Jonah prayed. He admitted his helplessness and thanked God for saving him. Failure is not a reason to stop praying; it is when we especially need to turn back to God. We are never too far away to call upon Him.

7. God Delivers Jonah

God commanded the fish to release Jonah onto dry land, then spoke to him a second time: “Go to Nineveh.” God did not declare Jonah unusable after one failure. Mistakes have consequences, but mercy can give us a new beginning.

8. Jonah Goes to Nineveh

This time Jonah obeyed. The people listened, humbled themselves, and turned from evil. Our responsibility is to deliver God’s message faithfully—not to decide beforehand who will listen or who deserves an opportunity to repent.

9. God Shows Mercy

God saw Nineveh turn from evil and showed mercy. Jonah became angry. He wanted mercy when he was drowning, but did not want Nineveh to receive it. God’s compassion is greater than ours.

10. The Heart of God

God cared about disobedient Jonah, the frightened sailors, the people of Nineveh, and the children who did not understand all that was happening. His mercy reached the ship, the sea, the prophet, and the city—and His mercy can reach us.

Lessons to Remember

• When God speaks, obey Him.
• When we fail, turn back and pray.
• God can rescue us in unexpected ways.
• Nobody is beyond the reach of God’s mercy.
• We should desire for others the grace God has given us.

Closing Prayer

Father, thank You for being compassionate and merciful. Forgive us for the times we have run from what You asked us to do. Help us obey Your voice and show mercy when others fail. Bless the children and families of Pakistan. Let them know they are seen, loved, and precious to You. Thank You for the mercy and new life You give through Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name, amen.

God Knew You Before Anyone Met You

Before your family held you, God knew you. He formed you carefully and gave you a life that matters. You are not an accident, an extra person, or a mistake. God sees the parts of you that others notice and the parts nobody else understands.

Different Does Not Mean Less

God did not make every flower the same color or every bird sing the same song. People also learn, speak, move, feel, and serve in different ways. We should never use another person’s difference as a reason to make them feel small. The body of Christ needs many members, each given something to contribute.

Your Gifts Have a Purpose

You may be good at listening, drawing, building, praying, noticing when somebody is alone, or asking questions nobody else thought to ask. A gift does not have to place you on a stage to matter. When it is offered to God with love, even a small act can carry His voice.

Jesus Welcomes Children

When others tried to keep children away, Jesus said, “Suffer the little children to come unto me.” Jesus did not treat children as interruptions. He welcomed them, blessed them, and showed that they belong near Him.

Remember

• God made you deliberately.
• Your value does not depend on being like somebody else.
• Your gifts can serve God and help people.
• Jesus welcomes you close.
• Because God values others, we should treat them as precious too.

Closing Prayer

Father, thank You for making each of us with care. Help us see ourselves through Your love and recognize the gifts You have placed in others. Show us how to use what You gave us to serve, encourage, and carry the love of Jesus. Amen.

A is for Amen

Amen means more than “the prayer is over.” It means, “Truly,” “Let it be so,” and “I agree.” When we say amen to God, we are trusting that He hears us and that His truth is dependable. Jesus Himself is called “the Amen”—the faithful and true witness.

“For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen.” 2 Corinthians 1:20

B is for Bible

The Bible helps us recognize God’s voice, learn His ways, and test what we hear. It is not merely a decoration to carry or a collection of hard words. It is a lamp for the next step. We read it, think about it, ask questions, and let it correct our direction.

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalm 119:105

C is for Christ

The center of our faith is not our own goodness—it is Jesus Christ. He shows us the Father, carries our sin to the cross, rises from the grave, and calls us to follow Him. The Bible points us to Christ, and because of Christ we can say amen to God’s promises.

“I am the way, the truth, and the life.” John 14:6

Put the ABCs Together

Amen: I trust God’s truth. Bible: I learn what God has spoken. Christ: I follow the One at the center of it all. These are not merely three answers to memorize; they form a road to walk every day.

Closing Prayer

Father, teach us to trust You, treasure Your Word, and follow Jesus Christ. Let our amen come from believing hearts. Use the Bible to guide our steps, and keep Christ at the center of everything we do. In Jesus’ name, amen.
